Meet Our STEM Mentors from our 2022 program
Modules covered are:
- Confidence Building & Career Planning
Throughout The Future is Bright program, our mentees will have fun whilst increasing their confidence and learn to build a career plan in our online group sessions. Each session will focus on different aspects of their life to encourage ambition, innovation and tools to develop and maintain confidence plus helping them understand that confidence is a journey. We equip them with the tools required to achieve success and support them with ongoing mentoring.
- Mentoring partnering up
At the beginning of The Future is Bright program, each participant will be paired up with a qualified industry professional. Their mentor will be selected based on each mentees’ area of interest and/or area for development. The mentees will be introduced to their mentors and given guidance on how to build and drive a mentoring relationship, understanding the invaluable opportunity it is to have a mentor and how to make the most of their mentorship.
- Exposure to potential tertiary education (Job Trainer links)
The Future is Bright is all about continuous learning and that every experience is an opportunity to learn. Along with sessions on effective time management and stress management, we will promote government funded education options to our mentees. Many limitations set out for young women are simply because they’re unaware of the opportunities available to them and by supplying them the tools to take on challenges will contribute to their success.
- Job Readiness Workshops
Participants of The Future is Bright program will take part in a series of job readiness sessions to prepare them for the future job market, giving them a competitive advantage over other applicants. They’ll learn how to best market themselves on LinkedIn, how to find the right job, write effective cover letters and successful resumes, prepare for interviews and how to ask the right questions.
- Experience Days
The Future is Bright has partnered with different organisations to host experience days. Our program partners will open their doors and present “a day on the job”, allowing our participants to see firsthand what roles are currently available in the industry, and what these organisations are working towards in the future.
- Networking with Key Business Partners for Employment Opportunities
During The Future is Bright program, our participants will undertake training sessions on effective networking and tips on self promotion, important skills required for future success. We help the mentees equip themselves for important meetings with program partners who will discuss career opportunities available in their industries.
