Raya Tasnim
Sample Environment Officer (Graduate)
Raya is a graduate of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering/Materials Science from the University of New South Wales. She is passionate about sustainability, especially regarding energy, resources and environmental responsibility. This led her to join the 2021 graduate program at ANSTO where she is currently working at the Australian Centre for Neutron Scattering. She is also the Industry & Research Officer at AusYGN. These roles allow her to focus on enabling world class research and promoting peaceful applications of nuclear science. Her previous work experience has been in the construction and building design industries at Arup as well as the development of SyMo (a first of its kind radiopharmaceutical waste treatment facility) at ANSTO. A long-term goal is to give back to her community, specifically encouraging students from underprivileged backgrounds to forge their own STEM careers.
