Yasmin Zaman

Fulbright Scholar at Texas A&M University,

Yasmin is a Masters student in Aerospace Engineering and Fulbright Scholar at Texas A&M University, researching in the field of bioastronautics. Prior to Texas A&M, she was a Space Technology Officer at the Australian Space Agency where she led the development of the Applied Space Medicine and Life Sciences roadmap. She has also flown drones for Surf Life Saving NSW, competed in the SpaceX Hyperloop Pod Competition, contributed to a virtual reality experience of the Giant Magellan Telescope in Chile, and researched Martian rocket aerodynamics. She holds degrees in Aerospace Engineering and Science (majoring in Neuroscience) from the University of New South Wales. In 2020, she won the Western Sydney Young Woman of the Year award.

Driven by her passion to break boundaries, Yasmin aims to create greater spaces for diversity in STEM and advance human space exploration. She also aspires to help further the Australian space industry and eventually, live on Mars.
